In 2022, we met in a very unexpected way - a glitch in a dating app. Despite our settings being set to exclude long-distance relationships, we found each other’s profiles. We swiped right before realizing we were nearly a hundred miles apart. Jonathan was in Brooklyn, NYC, and Daryl in East Stroudsburg, PA. Distance couldn't keep us from finding our way to each other.

From the very beginning, we made the long-distance work by FaceTiming every day - building a bond that felt like home. When we finally had our first date in Brooklyn, it was magical — Daryl’s first Broadway show, Wicked, became a special memory for us both. Our wedding rings are a tribute to that moment, with emeralds representing not only the show but the birthstones of both our mothers. It feels like they’re with us every step of the way, blessing our love and our future together.
After 8 months of long-distance, we knew it was time to start building our lives side by side. Daryl made the big move to Brooklyn, trading country quiet for city excitement. Together, we’ve created a home filled with the sounds of love and laughter… and the many various noises made by our two pups, Sophie and Louie.
The family we have built means the world to us, and we’ve shared so many incredible experiences already — whether it’s Jonathan learning to snowboard, Daryl’s first real drag show, going on new adventures, or just cozy nights in with our pups. Through it all, we’ve grown closer, creating a life full of love, support, and excitement for the future. We still FaceTime every day we’re apart, a small reminder of how it all began and one of the many traditions our little family has.
